Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Cognik AS processes, why, and the rights you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run our website and respond to you.
Who we are
Cognik AS (org. no. 913 099 176), Havnehagen 11, 1628 Engelsviken, Norway, is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and in direct correspondence with us. You can reach us at our contact address.
What we collect
The cognik.no website does not use tracking cookies, advertising, or third-party analytics, and it does not require you to create an account. The only personal data we process is what you choose to send us:
- Contact details and message content — when you email us or use the support form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write.
- Standard server logs — our web server may record the IP address and basic request information of visitors for security and reliability, kept only briefly.
How we use it
We use the information you send solely to read your message, reply to you, and keep a record of the correspondence. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Legal basis
Under the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where relevant, taking steps at your request. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
Sharing and storage
We do not share your personal data with third parties except service providers that help us operate (for example, our email and hosting providers), and only as needed to deliver the service. Data is securely stored within the EU/EEA. We retain correspondence only as long as needed for the matter it concerns, and then delete it.
Our products
Privacy terms specific to individual products — such as the ZoneLab app — are provided within or alongside those products. This policy covers the cognik.no website and general correspondence with Cognik AS.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us using the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above reflects the most recent revision.
